I am Kali Prasad Baskota, a musician, singer, lyricist, composer, and writer from Nepal. I was born on 16 December 1979 in Kirtipur, where my musical journey began at a very young age through singing bhajans in my community. Those early moments shaped my connection with music and laid the foundation for everything that followed. Over the years, I have been fortunate to work as a playback singer for popular Nepali films such as Resham Filili and Loot 2. Alongside film music, my independent songs like Chahana Sakiyo and Thamel Bazaar have received immense love from listeners. Thamel Bazaar in particular became one of the most viewed Nepali music videos on YouTube, reflecting the strong bond I share with my audience. My work often blends traditional Nepali sounds with contemporary musical expressions. Beyond creating music, I have been deeply involved in supporting and mentoring new talent in the Nepali music industry. Serving as a judge on Nepal Idol, Nepal’s leading music competition, allowed me to guide and encourage emerging singers, including artists like Hemanta Rana. With multiple awards and recognitions along the way, I continue to create, perform, and contribute to Nepali music with the same passion that started in Kirtipur.
